34th Chef’s Cup held Dec. 3

The thirty-fourth annual Chef's Cup took place at Winter Park Resort on Dec. 3. The event was held in the West Portal Station. The Chef's Cup benefits the Winter Park Competition Center. A silent auction was held to support the Winter Park Ski Education Foundation. The Winter Park Ski Education Foundation supports athletes who, without help, would not be able to participate in Competition Center programs.

There were six different categories for food including appetizer, entrée, dessert, creativity, presentation and people's choice. There was a wide array of food that was carefully prepared and presented by local chefs. Each food establishment offered their best dish, and presentation was just as important as taste.

Live music set the ambiance for guests to mingle and enjoy the professionally prepared dishes and cocktails. The band played classic rock covers and a few modern songs to appeal to all ages in attendance.

The event was not just focused on which food most appealed to the taste buds. The chefs worked all night to prepare each sample dish as elegantly as possible, as presentation was a large factor in the competition. The chefs and staff from each restaurant were available to answer any questions about the food they had prepared, and all establishments stood proudly by their hard work.

Zyr Vodka sponsored the Chef's Cup and Complimentary Zyr cocktails were available all night. There was also complimentary beer and wine.
