The Grand County Concert Series announces schedule of artists for upcoming season

The Grand County Concert Series (GCCS) will present seven concerts in the 2017 season from January through April.
Two Grand County favorites are coming back: Tao Lin, pianist, performing a gorgeous program with the Aspen String Trio from Chicago, and the Bergmann Piano Duo from Vancouver, B. C.
Also, included for the 2017 season is a Children's Concert with the Central City Opera at 4 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017.
"Our 2017 season will be enhanced by celebrated musicians from coast to coast. We are so excited to hear them perform on our re-conditioned, 73-year-old Baldwin concert grand," said Judy Baxter, Board President, Grand County Concert Series.
"This is truly a community concert series," said Baxter.
She credits support from season ticket purchases, local businesses and governments, organizations, donors, the Grand Foundation and other foundations for making the season possible.

"We are honored to receive a two-year grant from the very competitive Colorado Creates, a division of the National Endowment for the Arts," she said.
The season opens with the Alexander String Quartet on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Church of the Eternal Hills in Tabernash.
The Alexander String Quartet is celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2016. The Alexander String Quartet has performed in the major music capitals of five continents, securing its standing among the world's premier ensembles. The Alexander String Quartet will be performing Mozart, Shostakovich, and Schubert.
This is followed by the Aspen String Trio featuring Tao Lin on Friday, January 20 performing Beethoven, Mozart, and Fauré . The Aspen Trio and Tao Lin are sure to delight as only a trio described as "a constant inspiration to us, and a joy to our audiences!" and a pianist described playing with "keen musical intelligence and excellent facility" could.
February concerts showcase Alexandre Moutouzkine at 7 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 and the St. Martin's Choir at 7 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017.
The concert series presents its second full length concert for young people in 2017: Mozart & Co. with Central City Opera at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 4. Mountain Moon Yoga is generously sponsoring this performance. Elevation Pizza is sponsoring pizza and beverages for attendees.
Grand County Concert Series will continue into March with Atlantic Brass at 7 p.m. Friday March 17, 2017 and close out the season with the Bergmann Duo at 7 p.m. April 7, 2017.
All concerts are at the Church of the Eternal Hills in Tabernash.
"Every year we receive requests from artists around the world to perform on our series, which is so exciting. They love coming to Grand County. And, we love hearing them. They all say our audience is the best," said Baxter.
