Angie Many – Health care bill was ‘lawmkaing at its worst’

To the Editor:

Most e-mailers are probably familiar with ‘Maxine,’ a cartoon older lady who wears red and purple together and espouses on everything from politics to chocolate. Recently, Maxine opined:

“Let me get this straight. We’re going to be gifted with a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn’t read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a President who also hasn’t read it and who smokes, with funding administered by a Treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, to be overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese, and financed by a country that’s broke.

“What the heck could possibly go wrong?”

Maxine again hits the nail on the head. No one really understands this bill. It is 2,400 pages of legal gibberish, probably unintelligible in its whole to even the people who wrote it.

Please go to http://www.thomas.gov (Library of Congress), find H.R.3590, (Version 5, Public Print, .pdf is the correct bill – I think!), look at the bill, and see if you think the Democrats who voted for this massive boondoggle could possible know everything in it. This is lawmaking at its worst.
