Broome Hut seeks Volunteer help
December 6, 2012
Grand Huts Association is looking to complete the Broome Hut by Jan. 2, but they need your help to do it.
The guys at the Broome Hut are in need of any volunteers who have experience in construction, or not, to help them complete this awesome project.
“All you need is two hands and a willing spirit,” said Project Manager for the Broome Hut Andy Miller.
The finishing touches are being put on the hut and the work that is left to be done includes: Sanding, painting, and the like.
Not only can you rack up some free nights at the hut by volunteering, but you can also be apart of the history of creating this magnificent hut which is sure to be used for years to come. Who knows, maybe your kids will use the hut one day and be able to tell their friends that their mom and/or dad helped to build the hut.
The hut is still accessible by foot, however with the snow in the forecast for this weekend, it might be a good idea to wear some gaiters on top of your waterproof boots.
Call Patrick at 425-281-7806 or sign up to volunteer at grandhuts.org.
And for those out there looking to brush up on their avalanche skills and knowledge for the upcoming season, Power World in Granby will be offering a free avalanche education course on Saturday, Dec. 8, starting at 6 p.m.
