Celebrating the past, present and future of healthcare in Grand County

Sky-Hi News Staff Report

The Grand County Rural Health Network will present its 4th Annual Bulls, Boots, and BBQ fundraiser Friday, August 19 from 6-10 p.m. at Strawberry Creek Ranch 9N in Granby.

The fundraiser is an 'Olde-Fashioned Barn Dance'. The concept is to honor the past, present, and future of healthcare in Grand County, while raising money for a local nonprofit that improves the future of our healthcare by educating the community on health issues and ensuring accessibility and efficiency of the healthcare system.

Award for Excellence in Healthcare Service Recipient Announced

The Grand County Rural Health Network is honoring a healthcare professional at the event, keeping with the theme of honoring the past, present and future of healthcare in Grand County. This year they had four nominations of amazing candidates, all of whom have contributed so much over the years to Grand County's healthcare system. The Network's board of directors decides the award recipient to represent the value of all of our healthcare professionals. This year's "Therese McElroy Award for Excellence in Healthcare Service" will be awarded to Val Lind, RN.

Lind most recently worked at Grand County Home Health where she worked for nearly seven years until it closed in February.

"The medical offices and doctors could count on her to give the highest level of care to her patients," said Cindy Frith, LPN at Ten Mile Family Medicine.
