Because of the Snowball Music Festival March 8-10, the sledding hills in the Fraser Valley are going to be open extra late that weekend.

Grand County Commissioners unanimously granted the Colorado Adventure Park representative Clark Lipscomb a temporary use permit to be open until 1:30 a.m. each night of the concerts. The Snowball performances end at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Normally the Adventure Park sledding hill is open until 10 p.m.

The Adventure Park parking lot was already being used for overflow parking for the Snowball event, requiring lighting until 2 a.m.

Colorado Adventure Park’s competitor the historic Fraser Tubing Hill, which is not under regulatory control of the county, will also be open late, according to manager Rodney Rogers. “We’ll play it by ear and see how busy we are,” he said, saying he expects the hill will be open until at least midnight. The hill’s normal operating hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. “We’ll be open as late as we need to be,” Rogers said.
