Mentoring program seeks volunteers to form nonprofit

Grand County, CO Colorado

The Mentors in Life Enrichment program has been operating under the Grand County Juvenile Services Department for the past two years. The program provides one-on-one youth mentoring to children ages 6-17 who are victims of abuse of neglect, or who meet other at-risk criteria. Due to decreasing funding, and other issues, Grand County’s Mentors program coordinators are considering affiliating with Partner Mentoring Association. The association is a well-established and respected youth mentoring organization with eight affiliates statewide. Grand County needs community volunteers to help form the Board of Directions necessary for accreditation and to help the program continue. An informational meeting will be held from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the mediation room at the Grand County Judicial Center in Hot Sulphur Springs. Anyone interested in helping Grand County youth is urged to attend. Please call Grand County Mentor Coordinator Ian Aneloski at 970-531-7291, or email
