Rendezvous launches new fitness program

Sky-Hi News Staff Report

Rendezvous Colorado, a Koelbel and Company resort community located on the border of Winter Park and Fraser, announced this week that it has partnered with Tina Vindum of OutdoorFitnness.com, to launch The Rendezvous Trailside Wellness program, which offers fun and effective experiences that embrace therapeutic properties of the outdoors, enabling participants to connect with themselves, the community, and the environment.

The Rendezvous Trailside Wellness Program is a holistic approach that combines fitness and wellness techniques uniquely integrated with the ever-changing landscape at Rendezvous. The program will officially launch free to the public on Saturday, July 23 with a day-long fitness event at Rendezvous lead by Tina Vindum.

“Rendezvous’ goal as a resort community is to rejuvenate body, soul and relationships through togetherness and outdoor fun so the concept behind the Trailside Wellness program— which emphasizes letting nature be your inspiration, guide, and coach – is a perfect addition to our offering,” said Koelbel and Company President, Walter A. ‘Buz’ Koelbel, Jr.

This breakthrough fitness program is rooted in the mind/body connection – and a greater connection to the natural world – and consists of a series of trails that use different QR codes to offer varying exercises that utilize all five senses from the sounds of the river to exercises using a nearby log. Vindum has pioneered the field, educating professionals and enthusiasts through her book, Outdoor Fitness, as well as appearances on TV, radio, DVDs and in magazines and newspapers nationwide.

Participants download a QR scanning app to their mobile device, such as QR Code Reader by Scan (available for both Apple and Android devices), and then open the app, point the device at the QR code as if taking a photo and the code will link participants to the Rendezvous Wellness web page where the video for that station will appear. Participants just press play to begin the workout. Alternately, participants can download the videos directly from the Rendezvous Wellness website before they hit the trail for easier playback.

“The ease at which we can get out on the trails at Rendezvous is a tremendous resource for our family, and now the Wellness Program provides a new benefit for doing so,” said Laurie Chahbandour, a homeowner at Rendezvous. “Rendezvous offers us a lifestyle we can find no place else, it is truly priceless.”
