The 4 Bar 4 Ranch on the State Register of Historic Properties
October 1, 2016
On September 29, the Colorado Historic Preservation Review Board voted unanimously to place the 4 Bar Ranch on the State Register of Historic Properties.
The Colorado State Register of Historic Properties is a listing of the state's significant cultural resources worthy of preservation for the future education and enjoyment of Colorado's residents and visitors, http://www.historycolorado.org.
By honoring sites, the Colorado State Register provides formal recognition of a property's importance to the history of the community and the state of Colorado and a sense of community history and local pride.
This designation also provides the opportunity for the 4 Bar 4 to compete for grants from Colorado's State Historical Fund and Historic Fraser Inc. will be competing in the fall grant cycle this October. HFI will apply for a grant in the neighborhood of $200,000 and will need to raise $50-60,000 in matching funds. The total project budget is currently estimated at about $750,000.
Dismantling of the Ford Barn and stagecoach hotel continue; the roofs have been removed from both. Materials are labeled and stored for re-use in the restoration process.
