The Grand Lake Metropolitan Recreation District is taking steps toward renovating its clubhouse. District board members have received design ideas and bids from two Grand County architects, with renovation cost estimates at $750,000 and $850,000, and plan to make a decision on which design scheme and architect to pursue during a special meeting scheduled for Oct. 7.

According to the district’s Web site, http://www.grandlakegolf.com, the district’s goals in giving a cosmetic and architectural face lift to the existing club house “include, but are not limited to: Improving functionality, traffic flow, elimination of dead space, and update the finish of the clubhouse.

“After an architect is chosen, additional ideas will be welcomed,” the district states.
