Burke captures holiday spirit in Grand County in latest ‘novellette’
December 24, 2012
Angela Burke, a former resident of Grand and Summit counties resident, recently published her latest “novelette” titled “The Backcountry Diaries: A Christmas Rendezvous.”
The story takes place in the Fraser Valley with some specific locations that are sure will evoke some personally held memories of the Fraser Valley from its residents.
The setting of the story also takes place during Christmastime, which seems is timely at the moment.
The story hits closer to home than just the setting of the story as the author dives into a relationships among many of the common tenants of mountain town living, which are eloquently captured with undeniable detail and honesty by the author.
This quick read captures the essence of living and loving in a mountain town where a free spirit and the pursuit of happiness can be more treasured than a commitment.
The characters in the story go through a defining experience that resonates with hope and positive vibes that are just in time for the holiday season.
The author now lives in Boulder with her family, though they still have a second home in Tabernash. This particular story was dreamed up by the author while sitting at the Winter Park Pub after a day of skiing on the mountain.
The novelette is available through Summer Solstice Publishing, Smashwords, and Amazon and would make a great holiday gift to anyone who is accustomed to or dreams of mountain town living.
