Closed enrollment lifted at Granby Elementary
July 26, 2009
The East Grand School District Board of Education approved open enrollment at Granby Elementary School for the 2009-2010 season.
The school has been under a closed-enrollment policy for three years.
A decrease in enrollment and small class sizes led the board to reconsider its policy.
School board officials approved an amended policy on Tuesday that states students are required to attend the district school determined by residency, unless a request to attend another school outside of that residency is approved.
Permission must be obtained from both principals. The district superintendent is the final administrator to sign off on the request, the policy states.
