Colo. monument waives fees on Veteran’s Days

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) – The Colorado National Monument is waiving entrance fees for all visitors on Veteran’s Day Thursday.

The monument outside Grand Junction is part of the greater Colorado Plateau and includes sheer red rock cliffs, canyons and the 23-mile Rim Rock Drive.

Veteran’s Day is one of the 15 free days offered at National Parks sites this year. All veterans and their families who visit the Colorado National Monument that day will receive 20 percent discounts on all items in the bookstore in the visitor center.
