Colorado flags will fly at half mast for Navy corpsman

DENVER (AP) – Funeral services are planned Friday in Aurora for a Colorado native who died fighting in Afghanistan.
Petty Officer 3rd Class Anthony Garcia was killed Aug. 5 when his vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device in the Farah Province of Afghanistan. The Hospital Corpsman was 21.
Gov. Bill Ritter has ordered flags at state and federal buildings to fly at half-staff Friday. Ritter plans to attend the funeral service, having met Garcia on a 2007 trip to Iraq. Burial is Friday at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
