Colorado initiative launched against federal health overhaul
January 15, 2010
DENVER (AP) – A conservative think tank has launched an initiative that would bar the federal government from mandating health insurance in Colorado.
Jon Caldara, president of the Independence Institute, says the federal government has no right to tell citizens what kind of insurance to buy.
The initiative needs approval of the wording and may face a court challenge before signatures are gathered to get on the November ballot.
