Community support makes Grand Gala a success

The Grand Foundation and Grand Gala Committee provided a majestic setting and enchanted evening at Devil’s Thumb Ranch for the 9th Annual Grand Gala. This year the annual black-tie fundraiser brought out the who’s who in Grand County philanthropists as they celebrated and meandered through the sprawling ranch setting enjoying varying gourmet menus, lively music and alluring treasures at the silent auction. With over 360 guests in attendance, the evening raised nearly $140,000, which will be used to improve the quality of life for residents and guests in Grand County. Proceeds directly benefit Grand County nonprofits through Grand Foundation grants and programs. The East Grand Education Foundation Fund was chosen as the secondary beneficiary of the event. A portion of the proceeds will support the East Grand School District’s 2010- 2011 field trips. In addition, $5,000 will be divided among the East and West Grand school districts for scholarships awarded to seniors who exemplify outstanding community spirit and a strong sense of volunteerism and philanthropy. The Grand Gala is one of our largest annual fundraisers. The Grand Foundation owes a debt of gratitude to the volunteer committee who creatively develop and direct this event into a great success each year. The $1.2 million generated since the Gala’s inception has helped strengthen the community. The Grand Gala could not be the success it is without the countless hours that our volunteers contribute during the event. Volunteerism drives the Grand Gala from the very first committee meeting in November until our guests depart.A special thank you and recognition to our Volunteer Gala Chairs Rhonda Bromberg, Jennifer Colley, Jynnifer Pierro and to their committee Theresa Cinocco, Keri Dornbusch, Sheri Lock and Ron Nelson. To all of our event volunteers: Jenny Beltman, Fran Cassidy, Kelly Chasin, Motor Coulson, Barbara Davis, Robin Dresen, Art Ferrari, Stefanie Feek, Chris Froetschner, Jeni Fuqua, Bob & Joan Gaskins, Kathy Gingery, Darcee Kissler, Pat Kohlwey, MPHS Baseball Team, Becky McBride, Maura McKnight, Kristy Meyer, Wendy Mielke, Tricia Muniz, Dave Naples, James Newberry, Sudi Newcomer, Stacey O’Brien, Lynda Parker, Larry & Susie Peterson, Amy & Ed Raegner, Becky Rand, Johnnie Romano, Kelly & Wendy Stefanski, Nancy & Pete Strohecker, Cindy & JT Thompson, Penny and Dennis Troutman, Julie Turner, Carol Wolff, Heather VandenBroek and Gabriella Vogelbacher.Guests rocked to one of Denver’s favorite bands – That Eighties Band and enjoyed a quieter locale over at Ranch House Restaurant swaying to the tunes of our own local favorite Gary Key.
