Coroner says Aspen woman died of blow to the head

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) – Aspen police haven’t ruled out foul play in the death of a resident whose body was found in snow at a park next to the Pitkin County Library.

County coroner’s officials say 54-year-old Cheryl Lurie died of a blow to the head, but it’s not clear how she was injured. A passer-by found her body Monday.

Police say she was last seen at a bar and restaurant at the Wheeler Opera House around 6:30 p.m. Sunday and was walking in the direction of her home.

Police said Wednesday they are investigating leads.
