County commissioners renew Verizon permits

The Grand County Board of Commissioners has approved the renewal of special use permits for two Verizon Wireless telecommunications sites in Grand County.

Verizon Wireless operates a site on Wolford Mountain and one near the intersection of County Road 5 and County Road 5101.

The Wolford site houses an 85-foot tower and other equipment. The Fraser site houses a 125-foot tower.



Staff recommended approval for both sites with the condition that Verizon paint the antennas and dishes at both locations a dull grey to comply with county regulations.

The board approved the renewal of both permits under the condition that Verizon Wireless paints the antennas and dishes within 120 days.



Both permits will expire on July 22, 2020.
