Doug Goodwin: Support for All School Ski Day appreciated

To the Editor:

Once again, our All School Ski Day was a huge success. The weather request I put in to the Snow and Sun Gods worked and we had fresh snow and brilliant sunshine.

However, the day would not have been the success it was if it were not for the help of many people. I’d like to thank Kirk Oldham and staff from the Division of Wildlife for coming in and teaching our kids about animal adaptations and tracking, Dave Kafer and friends from Grand County Search and Rescue taught our kids about staying safe outdoors, and how rescue dogs find people. Sue Luton helped our first- and second-graders make bird feeders. Janice Peck and staff at the Grand Lake Nordic Center provided our students with cross-country ski gear. Lastly, thanks to our dedicated parents who joined us.
