Chef’s Cup this weekend

This weekend residents of Grand County and guests will have a unique opportunity to taste many local restaurants under one roof.
The thirty fourth annual Chef’s Cup will take place on Saturday, December 3 at 7p.m. at the West Portal Station at Winter Park Resort. The Chef’s Cup is put on by the Winter Park Competition Center. Each year there is a festive theme for the event, and this year the theme will be “Fire and Ice.”
The event is unique to Grand County because it allows those in attendance rate the food prepared by many local restaurants. There are six different categories for food including appetizer, entrée, dessert, creativity, presentation and people’s choice. Guests will also receive complimentary beer, wine, and signature cocktails.
Along with full stomachs, guests will also have the opportunity to support the Winter Park Ski Education Foundation by bidding on silent auction items donated by supporters. The Winter Park Ski Education Foundation supports athletes who, without help, would not be able to participate in Competition Center programs.
The resort will also host Demo Days on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for those that may be in the market for new skis or snowboards. Many Colorado local companies will be in attendance with their latest gear along with well-know companies from other ski meccas.
Some brands will include Never Summer, SIMS, Gilson Snowboards, Salomon, Head Skis, Rocky Mountain Underground Skis, and Meirer Skis.
