Music and more at the Taste of Fall

Special to the Sky-Hi News

Advocates for a Violence Free Community will hold its annual Taste of Fall fundraising event on Friday, Sept. 27, at the Base Lodge at Ski Granby Ranch. The event features tastings of fall foods and beverages. Entertainment will be by Gary Key, Emily Caldwell, Matty Brown and Kay Irvine.

Advocates provides crisis intervention and advocacy services to victims of domestic or sexual violence. Advocates also owns and operates Sprout House, the place where victims of domestic violence and their families can live and rebuild their lives in a supportive and safe environment.

This year’s Taste of Fall will recognize Deb Bittner for her many contributions to Advocates. She served in various leadership positions at Advocates for more than a decade, including as executive director from July 2009 until the end of this month. She is leaving Advocates to become division director of Domestic Violence Services for Family Tree in Denver.

“Deb Bittner is an extraordinary leader. She made Sprout House a reality. She made Advocates a much better agency. I hope the community comes out to Taste of Fall to thank her and wish her well,” said Gigi Dominguez, Advocates president.
