Winter Park Resort’s Springtopia includes free concerts, spring splash
April 17, 2014
WINTER PARK — Winter Park Resort may be staying open to April 27, but the party kicks off this weekend with Springtopia festivities that include two free concerts and the annual Coca-Cola® Spring Splash.
Headlining the fun is Colorado's own Big Head Todd and the Monsters, who will be playing a free concert this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. After this weekend's festivities, Winter Park Resort is conducting "The Season of the Seven +7," a special contest during its bonus week of skiing/riding that features the chance of winning a free pass for next year.
Big Head Todd and the Monsters, who are touring in support of their new album Black Beehive, will play at the base of Winter Park with Sean Kelly of The Samples opening at 2:30 p.m.
On Sunday, the fun continues with a massive day of activities starting with the annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Village at Winter Park and Wells Fargo Golden Bunny race before the often imitated, never duplicated Coca-Cola® Spring Splash contest starts at 11:30 a.m. The day concludes with another free concert, as Dumpstaphunk takes the stage at 3 p.m. after opener Rob Drabkin performs at 2 p.m.
Those die-hards not quite ready to say goodbye to Winter Park Resort's "Season of the Seven" can ski and ride all next week on while simultaneously earning the chance to win a 2014-2015 Winter Park season pass. Current pass holders (including those with frequency cards) can just enter their pass number on the raffle page at WinterParkResort.com and automatically will be entered to win. A 2014-2015 Winter Park season pass will be given away each day, but odds of winning improve the more days someone skis from April 21 to April 27. Conditions continue to be superb with nearly 370" of snow this season and more on the way.
