Fatal crash Monday morning in Parshall

On Monday, Dec. 21 around 9:50 a.m. a single vehicle rollover cash was reported on US Highway 40 near milepost 195 approximately one mile west of Parshall resulted in a death. A 1983, Jeep CJ-7 driven by Blake Mascia, 31, of Kremmling was traveling westbound on US Highway 40 and his car traveled off the left side of the road colliding with a tree. The car rolled one and a half times down a steep embankment and came to its final rest on its top.

Mascia was pronounced dead on scene by the Grand County Coroner’s office. The investigation is on-going at this time but icy road conditions are suspected of being a factor in this crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Agencies assisting the Colorado State Patrol with the investigation include the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, Kremmling Fire Department, Hot Sulphur Fire Department, Grand County EMS, and the Grand County Coroner’s Office.
