Forest Service preparing Grand County lakes for winter

The Sulphur Ranger District has begun removing buoys from Lake Granby and Shadow Mountain Reservoir. The U.S Forest Service requests that boaters use extreme caution since lake hazards will not be marked. The buoys are removed annually before the lakes begin to freeze.

The public can find regularly updated information about recreation on the Arapaho – Roosevelt National Forest on the internet at http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/arnf/.

For more information, contact Dan Matthews, Arapaho National Recreation Area Manager, Sulphur Ranger District at (970) 887-4127.
