Fraser River Valley Lions Club establishes Mary Ann Radkowski Scholarship
May 28, 2009
In memory of Mary Ann Radkowski, the Fraser River Valley Lions Club has established The Mary Ann Radkowski Scholarship, to be awarded over the years to Middle Park High School graduating seniors who as scholars have also excelled in community service, following an example set by Mary Ann.
Mary Ann, who died in April after a courageous battle with cancer, spent her career as a pediatric radiologist and a children’s advocate. Following her retirement in the Fraser Valley, she continued her advocacy of her charitable ideals through her dedication to community service.
Among Mary Ann’s chosen causes were the National Sports Center for the Disabled, especially therapeutic horseback riding; Shining Stars; Reading Buddies; the Garden Club; and of course the Fraser River Valley Lions Club and its philanthropic endeavors, including college scholarships for local college-bound seniors, eye care and eyeglasses for children, and support for local nonprofit organizations, including embracing those so important to Dr. Radkowski.
To make a memorial donation to the Mary Ann Radkowski scholarship Fund, make a check payable to the Fraser Valley Lions Club Foundation, memo Mary Ann Radkowski Scholarship, and mail it to The Fraser Valley Lions Club Foundation, P.O. Box 248, Winter Park, CO 80482. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization and your donation is tax deductible.
