Fraser Valley Partnership for Trails duck race supports National Public Lands Day

To the Editor:The Fraser Valley Partnership for Trails (FVPT) held its annual Duck Race in conjunction with River Stock with 826 ducks racing along the Fraser River.The money raised from the event supports National Public Lands Day, Headwaters Trails Alliance and grant requests. This year FVPT donated grant money to the Grand Helmet Drive.The fastest duck was adopted by Pat Berger who donated some of the $300 grand prize money back to FVPT. The next fastest ducks belonged to Michelle Murray-Hedlund, Lisa VonerHaar, Bob & Betty Williams, Rita Pech and Toni Leuthold.A total of 37 prizes were awarded, which shows how much support the merchants/businesses give to local groupslike FVPT.Organizers would like to thank Pat Berger and all the businesses that donated prizes for our event: High Lonesome Hut, Winter Park Resort, Grand County Vacations, Granby Ranch, FVMRD, Snow Mt. Ranch, Grand Sports, Grand Elk, Alpine Phys. Therapy, Glass Doctor, Home James, Christy Sports, Devils Thumb Ranch, Subway, Pearl Dragon, Rocky Mt. Roastery, Fraser Valley 1 hr.
