Goss resigns as Colo. gubernatorial candidate
July 27, 2010
DENVER (AP) – Benjamin Goss has submitted his resignation letter as the American Constitution Party’s candidate for governor.
Goss is stepping down to make way for former GOP congressman Tom Tancredo, who plans to run on the party’s ticket. Tancredo switched his party affiliation on Monday.
American Constitution Party chairman Clyde Harkins says the party’s vacancy committee will meet in the next few days to accept Tancredo’s application to become the party’s gubernatorial candidate.
Tancredo says he switched parties because he believes Republican candidates Scott McInnis and Dan Maes have no chance of beating Democrat John Hickenlooper in November.
