Granby asks citizens to ‘Make a Difference’
September 17, 2009
A community clean-up effort is taking place in Kaibab Park on Saturday.
As part of the USA Today’s “Make a Difference Day,” a national volunteer effort dubbed “America’s largest day of doing good” annually on the fourth Saturday of October, the Town of Granby is moving up its Day to occur in September due to the possibility of inclement October mountain weather.
“We always have snow by then,” said Granby Town Clerk Deb Hess.
Town officials chose the home of the town’s ballfields, Kaibab Park, as the recipient of some volunteer TLC. The park suffers from needed willow-trimming, restroom-painting and mulch-scattering.
Volunteers are asked to bring gloves, pruners, rakes and shovels. The town will provide lunch for those who show up and help out.
