Grand County Court report – Aug. 27

Because of vacation schedules, Grand County Court was not in session last week. Among the sentences handed down in the District Court at Hot Sulphur Springs were:

Kathryn M. Hernandez, 53, of Grand Lake, was found guilty of forgery – check or commercial instrument and criminal mischief – under $500 and was sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections and 180 days in jail, with credit for 145 days, sentences to be served concurrently. She was also ordered to pay fines and costs of $699.50. In a separate case, she was found guilty of attempted theft – under $100 and was sentenced to 180 days with credit for one day served, sentence to be served concurrently with the above. She was also ordered to pay $430.99 in fines and costs.

Timmy L. Vaughn, 45, of Aurora, was found guilty of tampering with a motor vehicle and was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation. In addition, he was ordered to pay $184.50 in fines and costs, to perform 40 hours of community service, and to make a $250 contribution to DARE.



Alastair Bencomo, 19, of Watkins, was found guilty of theft by resale of lift ticket and was fined $226.
