Grand County Model Railroad Club gives thanks for community support

To the Editor:This is a thank you message to Grand County citizens. The Grand County Model Railroad Club and Moffat Road Railroad Museum members want to thank all of the people and businesses who have helped us since we acquired our building in July 2007.Yes, Union Pacific has pulled the rug out from under us (actually the right of way land under our building) forcing us to move everything out and demolish our building by Aug. 1. But we will be bigger and better as a result. We have every intention of finding a new location where we can build a significant new building, which will be of benefit to all of the citizens of Grand County and visitors to our county. We want to thank all of you for your donations of materials, equipment and labor, some of which can be retrieved and stored for later use. We regret that some of it will be destroyed in the process of demolishing the building and removing everything from the site. Thanks to:Grand County commissioners, assessors office, treasurers office;Town of Granby trustees and planning commission;Granby Sanitation District District board and Tammy Granger and Gary Allison;Sky-Hi Daily News Autumn Phillips and Tonya Bina;Byron Miller Construction Co.;Overhead Door Company of Grand County;Granby Heating & Sheet Metal J B Becksmith;B & J Plumbing & Heating Rod Lock;Trail Electric Bill Trail;Xcel Energy Gary Salberg;Alpine Lumber Co.;Fraser Valley Lumber;Highland Lumber;Fraser Valley Ace Hardware;Kopy Kat Graphics & Printing Peter & Julie Kerswell;Joyce Ackerson;Union Pacific Railroad Hershal Deputy & others; And various anonymous donors who left boxes of railroad models, tracks and other materials at our door.Watch for new developments.
