Limited tickets remain for the Juniper Library’s 17th Annual Progressive Dinner in Grand Lake, which begins its culinary tours at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, and is a benefit for the Grand Lake library.
The Grand County Library District is serving up another chance for residents and guests to socialize as they sample the fares of several eating establishments through a nice four-course dinner. Tickets are limited to the first 50 people and more than half have already been purchased.
“For newcomers, it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and get acquainted with the excellent restaurants in Grand Lake,” said Ann Feucht, member of the Friends of the Grand County Library board for more than a dozen years.
During the popular event, patrons are given the opportunity to sample courses starting at the Gateway Inn, with hors d’oeuvres provided by the Terrace Inn and wine provided by the Gateway Inn. The Terrace Inn is preparing salmon mousse on sliced cucumbers with capers, chicken sate with a Thai peanut dipping sauce, and beef bleu cheese mousse carpatzio.
Next, patrons are invited to join the Daven Haven Restaurant for the soup and salad stop. The chef there is preparing a chilled melon soup for guests, as well as a salad of field greens, dressed with blackberries, bleu cheese crumbles, toasted nuts and seeds and a balsamic vinaigrette.
The Rapids Lodge Restaurant is dishing out the main entree, which will be grilled lamb loin with an almond and date demiglaze. Max and T’s on the boardwalk is the next stop. They are putting together dessert for the Progressive patrons ” a homemade cappuccino mascarpone brownie. A wide variety of after-dinner liquors (Amaretto, Creme de Menthe, Brandy, etc.) round out the evening at the Grand Lake Historical Society’s Kauffman House Museum.

Bus transportation is donated by First Student/The Lift Shuttle. However, for those who want to work off some of those calories, the restaurants aren’t set very far apart, especially the last three.
