Grand Lake seeks volunteers to develop demolition ordinance

Volunteers are needed by the Town of Grand Lake to help it develop a recommended demolition ordinance.

The town is seeking five to seven volunteers to serve on a Planning Commission Ad Hoc Committee charged with developing the ordinance.

The proposed ordinance would establish a standardized process for a review of requests to demolish buildings within the town’s limits. The review would help determine the historical significance of the building, if any, prior to demolition.

Volunteers chosen to sit on the committee will be expected to meet (at a minimum) twice per month until an ordinance has been proposed, but no longer than six months.

Those who wish to volunteer must submit a letter of interest to Grand Lake Town Hall at 1026 Park Avenue or to P. O. Box 99, Grand Lake, CO 80447 by noon Thursday, Aug. 8. For further information, contact Abbi Jo Wittman, town planner, at 627-3435 or glplanning@townofgrandlake.com.
