In the event of a wildfire or other large-scale emergency, the equipment will help officials coordinate efforts between multiple agencies. "Grand Lake is an area prone to wildfires and, despite being aware of that risk, we did not have the funds to equip the district to accommodate an incident management team," said Chief Long. "With this grant we will be better prepared should a large fire or other emergency strike in our community." Byron Hetzler/Sky-Hi News
