Great time of year for Lake Granby fishing

Bernie Keefe
Fishing Corner

The rainbows and browns are shallow and eating crawdads, minnows and other “bugs” with reckless abandon on Lake Granby this spring. The shorelines are fishing very well with floating rapalas, small tube jigs, a variety of flies, spoons and bait. Lake trout are hitting very well just about everywhere around the lake, trollers are catching them on minnow style baits as well as spoons. Tube jigs are working and there is also a good fly fishing bite. The rivers around are running high and muddy but the spillways are fishing very well with a variety of baits, flies and lures.
