Independent Sports Club Holiday Gala appreciates support

To the Editor:The 6th Annual Independent Sports Club Holiday Gala was a great success last Saturday night (Nov. 29) with approximately 100 people from Grand County and beyond attending. The event featured live music with 3rd Time Lucky and fabulous food prepared and expertly served by the staff at Caroline’s Cuisine at Soda Springs Ranch. Our deepest gratitude to the local businesses and individuals who graciously contributed items to the auction and our thanks to all who opened their wallets and their hearts by purchasing those items, thereby supporting the Youth of Grand County by raising a total of nearly $13,000.We would especially like to acknowledge some of the people whose volunteer work made this year’s ISC Holiday Gala possible. They are: Ed and Sharon Peterson, Jake Svard, Tim Thorpe, Brett Summers, Karinya Turnbull, April Lang, Rick Mullinex and Don Summers, as well as the great staff at Caroline’s Cuisine and, of course, Jean Claude Cavalier. The ISC, founded in 1981, provides the youth of Grand County with opportunities to enrich their educational, athletic, artistic and social experiences. This is done by funding requests presented to us by Grand County young people. We also fund annual scholarships to graduating seniors at both Grand County high schools. To raise the funds for these grants and scholarships, this organization, comprised entirely of volunteers, is dependent on support from fundraisers such as this Annual Holiday Gala. The rest of the funds are generated through personal and corporate donations. If you would like to help support the youth of Grand County through the Independent Sports Club, please send your tax deductible donation to; ISC, PO Box 1551, Grand Lake, CO 80447. We realize that today, finances are tight. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and continued support of our youth in Grand County.Laura Summers & Dee MullinexISC Holiday Gala Co-Chairs
