Interim superintendent Paul Reese to step down

West Grand Board of Education members on Tuesday thanked interim Superintendent Paul Reese for filling in since shortly after Oct. 17, 2008, when former Superintendent Jeff Perry resigned.

Reese has been “an absolute joy to work with,” said Board President Larry Banman.

“It was really easy to do this with all the people up here,” Reese said, gesturing to board and staff members.

The Tuesday, May 19, meeting was Reese’s last, though he will continue working for the district until May 29.

On July 1, Kevin Chalfant, who is finishing his tenure as principal at Peyton High School near Colorado Springs, will become superintendent.
