Kristin Kadlecek: Learning Hands thanks community
November 17, 2009
Learning Hands Child Care/Preschool have lots of people to thank for a month of treats. October was Fire Safety Prevention Month and the Granby Fire Department came down to the center with a fire truck for the children to get a visual and climb on board. They discussed fire safety and gave each child a gift. The children and the teachers want to give thanks to those firefighters who came to the center.
Next the children went to Margaret’s Nursery in Tabernash to pick out pumpkins for the holiday. Margaret had plenty for the children to do; she read them a book about a bat, had a sensory project for the children to do for their parents, and the children picked out their own pumpkins. Great big thanks to Margaret.
Lastly the children held a costume parade around the businesses on Ten Mile Drive. The teachers would like to thank The Roofing Company, Legacy, Ferguson, and the U.S. Forest Service for having the children come around to show off their costumes. The children would like to give a HUGE THANKS for all the treats they received from the businesses.
October was a busy month with lots of activities including preschool gymnastics, school pictures and a fundraiser. We will stay busy in November with more activities and learning about giving for the Thanksgiving holiday.
