Larry Garner will play the blues in Winter Park on Saturday
September 27, 2009
On Saturday, Oct. 3, the Grand County Blues Society will present Louisiana Music Hall of Fame artist Larry Garner at Smokin’ Moe’s. Larry is no stranger to Grand County: Two festival visits and a few parties at Smokin’ Moes over the years has made him a local favorite.
Larry comes from Baton Rouge, La., and brings one funky band with him. His guitar sidekick is one of the best guitar players you will ever see anywhere. Larry has stories from his everyday life that anyone can relate too, from singing about computers to singing about people who can’t drive in the right lane, you will find him telling a story you can use.
Larry also holds the record for the fullest dance floor all night long. He has that groove that makes everyone want to get out there.
The show is at 9 p.m. and it’s also going to be a farewell party for one of Grand County’s favorite artists, Tammy Yurich.
Tammy has been singing in the valley for a long time and its impossible to replace her amazing talent. She also was an actress at the Grand Theatre for several years. The music community will miss her. Come wish her well.
