Letter: The buck should stop with the president

The buck should stop with the president

To the Editor:

Power Corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. In case you aren’t noticing, we are witnessing that very phenomenon in the current Obama administration. The latest most frightening of a series of power misuses involves the Benghazi deaths and the IRS admittedly targeting conservative/patriot/religious groups. Add in the targeting of news outlets by email and phone record seizing/wire taps and the revelation that the administration was warned not once but twice by another country that the Boston Bombers were dangerous radicals.

Four Americans died (including our ambassador) in an Islamist attack in Benghazi while the State Department and Hillary Clinton had forewarning and more help within reach, and then attempted to cover up their incompetence by blaming a video.

When questioned by the Congress, she said “At this time, what difference does it make!” The president told someone to “take care of it” because, we can assume, he needed his sleep as he was going campaigning the next day. Weeks later, after it was plainly shown that it was a planned attack by Muslim extremists, Hillary’s State Department and the President were still talking about the video – including at the UN. Shouldn’t someone take responsibility for the four dead? The cover-up continues by stonewalling the House investigation.

Lately, targeting of conservative groups and people has been admitted by the IRS. Could it be that these tax exemption denials could have made a difference in the election? The head of that IRS bureau during most of that time has now said she will plead the fifth. Stonewalling of Congress on this mess continues.

Let there be no doubt, the IRS and the State Department are part of the current administration, run by the president’s appointees and Czars. Evidence seems to indicate White House complicity and the buck should stop with Hillary and the President.

This is just the tip of the scandals. The president has plead “no knowledge” of the damning facts. Power has corrupted and it is approaching the absolute.
