July 25, 2011
The Middle Park Fair is scheduled for Aug. 2-7 this year at the Grand County Fair Grounds in Kremmling.Among the many scheduled events is the Open Exhibit Hall. Adults of all ages and children are encouraged to enter items, including preserved foods, agriculture and gardening, sewing, quilting, knitting, needle/fancy work, jewelry and leather work, ceramics, pottery, hobbies, building sets, crafts and photography and art. Items may be brought to the Exhibit Hall for registration from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2. Judging will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 3, and the exhibits will be open for the public all day Aug. 4-7.There have been a few changes made this year to encourage more exhibits as well as to enhance the displays for view after the judging. The most important change is in the photography exhibits. All photos smaller than an 8 inch x 10 inch picture must be matted only and will not be accepted as an exhibit if it is in a frame. All photos larger than that may be in picture frames; however, matting is encouraged. This year there will be an opportunity to enter two items per person per class. The complete Exhibit Hall Rules may be found online at the Middle Park Fair web site, http://www.middleparkfairandrodeo.com/. Fair Books are available at different locations throughout the county.Call Therese McElroy, Exhibit Hall superintendent, with questions at 970-724-3202.
