Middle Park Music Education Foundation grateful for community assistance

To the Editor:

The Middle Park Music Education Foundation would like to thank the Grand Foundation, the Towns of Winter Park and Granby. The Fraser Valley Lions Club, Mountain Parks Electric, Wells Fargo Bank, the numerous business and individuals who have supported the Foundation through the donation of time and money during these tough economic times.

The students and music directors in both East and West Grand school districts greatly appreciate all the new instruments and equipment that the Middle Park Music Education Foundation has been able to purchase for them due to your generosity.

The Middle Park Music Education Foundation is starting an instrument drive on Oct. 1. If you have an old instrument under the bed, in the top of the closet or in the attic that could be donated to us for a student to use or it can be traded for an instrument that can be used in the school music programs, please drop them off at the Granby Community Senior Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you will leave your name, address and approximate value of the instrument with Sharon Schoenberer or DebThompson we will get a receipt to you for your donation.

We are also starting a new program called The Instrument Sponsorship Program. This program has been asked for by several businesses in Grand County. Instruments in this program will be bought by local businesses, groups, clubs or individuals who would like to be a sponsor for the music programs in East or West Grand School districts. This can be done in one of two ways: The local businesses, groups, clubs or individuals can purchase the instruments and put their names or advertising on them, then donate them to the Instrument Sponsorship Program, or donate the money for an instrument to the Middle Park Music Education Foundation and the Foundation will purchase the instrument for you and put “This instrument is sponsored by (your name or company name)” on the instrument or the instrument case.
