Middle school Brain Bowl team takes on all comers to raise funds for nationals

Are you smarter than an 8th-grader? Are you smarter than other grown-ups in Grand County?
East Grand Middle School’s 8th grade Brain Bowl team of Will Colley, Nelson Mitchell, Daniel Kopp, and Chris Ciccarelli has qualified for a national competition this June in Chicago, and to prepare for the trip is ready to compete against Grand County’s “smartest” team of challengers.
In order to raise funds for their trip, they are hosting a Brain Bowl competition for adult teams who want to test their wits against other teams. The winning adult team will then face the 8th-graders in the final round.
Teams are comprised of two to five players, and entry fees are $50 per team. There are four oral rounds in head-to-head competition against one or two other teams.
Points are scored, and the team with the highest total score will face the students in the final round. The winning team will get bragging rights, and trophies will be awarded to the top three teams.
