Mike music features bluegrass to soothe the soul

Mike Music grew up playing in the dance halls of western Oklahoma, during the “Urban Cowboy” days. On arrival to Grand County in 1998, Mike stumbled into the bluegrass world and was inspired by the amazing “flat pickers” in that style of music. Having recently become aquainted with Katie Glasman and her extraordinary Texas Swing fiddle playing, he decided to put a band together that would feature her amazing talents. Yaniv Salzberg will be playing guitar and providing vocals on Thursday night. His incredible talent and his pleasant demeanor on stage make for an enjoyable experience for all.Warren Ward will be carrying the bass duties, bringing a jazz flavor to this Texas Swing/Bluegrass style of music. Mike and Warren are cousins, having been influenced early on by their granny who played honky-tonk gospel piano. When Mike gets the opportunity for a gig like the one coming up on Thursday evening, his main goal is to put out three sets of honest hot pickin’ and enough humor for people to walk away and say they thoroughly enjoyed their evening. People should not be surprised if some two steppin’ breaks out. Mike and the Circle H will be having special giveaways during the evening. “The Texas Swing and Bluegrass music we are going to play was born out of hard times,” Music said. “People created this music on their front porches, on a Saturday night, after a hard week’s work, for little money. This music soothed their souls and has had a lasting effect that exists today. So here’s my deal – come out Thursday night, kick back, have a few drinks and a meal, and lets forget about politics, the economy and just enjoy some music and each other’s company.”
