Motorists: Be prepared to stop at the East Grand Fire Station in Fraser
August 9, 2009
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has changed the signals at East Grand Fire Station on U.S. Highway 40 in Fraser to “regular signals” instead of just emergency activation.
The change became operational last Thursday, and as a result through traffic on Highway 40 will encounter red lights initiated by vehicles exiting the station driveway.
The signal is set give exiting vehicles about seven seconds to make turns, though East Grand Fire Chief Todd Holzwarth said fire officials can initiate a longer green light for exiting and emergency vehicles with a control switch in the station.
