Mountain Travel Symposium announces meeting sites

DENVER – Co-founders and partners Mike Pierson and Ralf Garrison of the Mountain Travel Symposium (MTS) awarded bids to three major mountain resorts to host an upcoming MTS meeting. The annual Symposium, currently in its 35th consecutive year, moves each year to premier resorts and attracts approximately 1,000 attendees to participate in two tradeshows and an educational Forum.
Vail Resorts submitted a bid for Beaver Creek Resort and were selected for the 2011 Symposium. Most events will be held at the Beaver Creek Convention Center and Vilar Center from April 3-9, 2011. North Lake Tahoe and the Resort at Squaw Creek were awarded the 2012 Symposium bid in Squaw Valley, California from April 15-21 with the conference meetings and lodging all hosted at the Resort at Squaw Creek. The Town of Snowmass got the nod for the next year so the Symposium will move back to Snowmass, April 7-13, 2013 with meetings scheduled for the Snowmass Conference Center and lodging at the Silvertree and Wildwood Hotels.
“We had seven wonderful bids this year from destinations that offer outstanding services and amenities so it was a difficult decision choosing between all the options,” explained Pierson. “Interest in hosting the Symposium keeps growing because it is an excellent opportunity for the host resort to showcase their property and amenities to top U.S. and international tour operators, wholesalers, and ski trip planners and that opportunity to showcase your resort has become more crucial than ever in this tricky economy,” he added.
