MPHS senior helps middle-schoolers
June 4, 2010
To the Editor:
The 8th grade staff at East Grand Middle School would like to thank Conner Nicklas, an outstanding Middle Park High School senior, for the support he has provided to 7th and 8th grade students and staff during his second semester of this year.
At a time when many seniors are focused on their own futures and personal goals, Conner decided to pursue a different path. Conner volunteered with the Middle Park High School internship program and gave up a much-coveted senior free hour, reliably tutoring students in all subject areas for two hours of every school day this semester.
He has led by example, showing a positive attitude and solid work ethic. Conner has a talent for working with students, sometimes even attaining a level of rapport that goes beyond the traditional adult/student relationship.
The EGMS school community appreciates all of the hours Conner devoted to our students. We wish him the best with his future goals, starting with college this fall. We thank you for your time, Conner.
