NEA destroyed public schools
October 11, 2010
I am thoroughly convinced that the National Education Association has totally destroyed the public school system, tenure being the biggest mess of all and of course the public
has been all over that with little or no relief.
We have East Grand and West Grand school districts: I would like to know why we need two high-priced school superintendents when one for the county would suffice with the principals running the show, and of course with no need for vice principals. The schools are always asking for more and more money and they don’t seem to do anything with it.
It would be refreshing to go through the schools and get rid of about 50 percent of the non-teaching administrators. The schools must stop teaching for the CSAP exams and get back to basics – history, geography and simple mathematics. I am sure some of the students will tell you Bosnia is just North of Denver.
We are now faced with a choice on the November ballot: Amendments 60 and 61 and Proposition 101 are being touted as Armageddon, but the truth is that it will hold the politicians’ feet to the fire and make them stop spending our tax dollars on failed programs. The people under the gold dome seem to think our tax money is theirs to do with what they please. What has slipped their minds is that they work for us the people and are supposed to do our bidding.
Don’t let these people fool you: Read your amendments and vote accordingly. I will be voting yes on the aforementioned amendments.
