Obituary – Kenneth W. Harris, October 11, 1952 – March 27, 2010

Kenneth W. Harris, 57, of Longmont, Colorado, died March 27, 2010, at his home from a heart attack. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 33 years.

He was born on October 11, 1952, in Celina, Ohio to George William and Kathryn (Stoner) Harris. He graduated from Memorial High School in St. Marys, Ohio in 1970.

He was married on September 4, 1976, in St. Marys, Ohio, and they moved to Fraser in 1978.



He was a machinist for 15 years at NCAR in Boulder. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Longmont, Hope Lutheran Church of Westcliffe and VFW Post 2601 in Longmont. He enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, volunteering at the Longmont Humane Society and restoring coin collectibles.

Kenneth honorably served in the US Army’s 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War.



He was preceded in death by his mother, Kate.

Kenneth is survived by his father, Bill Harris of Fraser; two brothers, Robert Harris (Janey) of Golden and Greg Harris (Jenny) of Fraser; two sisters, Gloria Harris of Menahga, Minn., and Diana Hausfeld (Larry) of Coldwater, Ohio.

The memorial service was held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Longmont, on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
