Obituary: Tracey Lea Jones

Tracey Lea Jones, 44, died on July 9, 2008 in Cheyenne, Wyo.

She was born on July 2, 1964 in Raton, N.M. to Wayne and Sue “Suzi” Jones.

Tracey was born 364 days after her brother. She spent her younger years at various ranches in New Mexico. She lived there until 1970 when her family moved to Granby to start their family ranch. Fourteen years later her baby sister was born. They grew very close from the beginning.

Tracey went to school at Middle Park High School. After she graduated, she continued her education at Colorado Northwestern Community College, University of Nebraska Medical Center and University of Wyoming.

Tracey was a nurse full of passion for trauma, pediatrics and education. She enjoyed sewing, horseback riding, riding ATVs, ranch life and spending time with her family and friends. She was a Broncos and CU Buffs fan.

Tracey enjoyed chasing bunnies with her niece Jenna and having a good argument.

She is survived by her mother, Suzi Jones of Greeley, her father, Wayne Jones of New Mexico, sisters Kelli Erazo of Evans and fiance Barry Schaefer of Kersey, brothers Dale Jones and wife Annie of Watkins, nieces Sarah Jones of Crawford, Ali Jones of Watkins, and Jenna Erazo of Evans, and nephew Ben Jones of Watkins.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 15, at First United Methodist Church of Greeley.
