I have started down the path of reporting the first signs of spring each week. With all the warm weather we had in February, it wasnt hard. But now that the chill of winter has settled in on us again, its a challenge. But this week we get a free one with daylight saving time kicking in. If youre not on it yet, then youre late for work.Years ago probably 13 or 14 I had the privilege of working with Rose Baer for a brief time when she worked for this newspaper. Somehow, after that, our paths never seemed to cross until I ran into her a couple of years ago and she told me of her battle with breast cancer. For me, Rose was a shooting star that came in and out of my life. Someone I always thought I would call again and wed have lunch and catch up. Now she is gone and its too late. Rose will truly be missed by many of us in Grand County.A series of free, educational classes is being offered every other week in March.How to Grow Your Own Food in Grand County offered by C.S.U.
